The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has given a strong indication that recently renewed contracts of caterers under the school feeding programme will be cancelled or renewed when it officially assumes power.

Alhaji Omar Bodinga, the party’s first vice chairman in the Eastern Region, told Accra-based Starr FM they had been reliable informed that the outgoing government is briskly renewing the contracts of many caterers in the region.
According to Bodinga, many of the caterers are either women’s organisers of the National Democratic Congress or supporters of the party.
The NPP won an emphatic victory in the presidential elections and took a commanding hold of parliament in last week’s general elections with 170 seats.

“We have heard about on-going recruitment into the security services now, which we hope is not true. We’ve heard of conversion of temporary staff of political assistance and some of the staff we took on into permanent public servants.

We’ve heard of award of new contracts after the election results was announced on the 9 of December. We’ve heard of procurement and sale of national assets after the results.”
The new government would be inaugurated on Saturday January 7, 2017.
