As part of ongoing works on the Kasoa Interchange Project, a section of the N1 Highway that passes through the Kasoa Township will be closed to traffic between 10 pm and 5 am each day.

A statement from the Queiroz Galvāo Construction, who are working on the Kasoa Interchange Project said: “This is to enable the contractor to lift into place the steel beams for the bridge construction. The closure will start on Sunday, 10th July, 2016 and continue for a period of two weeks and it is likely to end on 23rd, July, 2016.”

“The main diversion route for drivers on the N1 is the New Kasoa Western Bypass that starts in the East (Accra side) after the Tuba Tool Booth, and on the West (Winneba side) about 1500m from Budumburam (Liberia camp),” the statement said.

“Drivers are advised to pay attention to traffic diversion signs placed at vantage points on the networks to find alternative routes for their travels,” the statement added.

The $160-million Kasoa interchange project began last August and is expected to be completed in October this year.

The project is expected to allow free movement of vehicles from Accra to the Western Region.
