Justice Ajet Nasam and Justice Ernest Obimpeh have been removed from the office as Justices of the High Court following a directive by President John Mahama. The removal is on grounds of stated misbehaviour.

This decision by the president followed his acceptance of a report by the five member impeachment committee which investigated their conduct after an expose' by investigative journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas in August 2015.

The two Justices were seen on tape taking bribes to free criminals whose cases they were ajudicating. This was contained in a petition to the Chief Justice by Tigereyepi a a private investigative firm headed by Anas Aremeyaw Anas. The petition requested the president to initiate impeachment action against the Justices in accordance with article 146 of the 1992 contitution.

In a related development another Justice of the High Court, His Lordship Ringo Cass Akurugu Azumah has also been removed from office on grounds of abseteeism.
According to a statement by signed by Judicial secretary Justice Alex B Poku Acheampong users of the court and a leading legal firm petitioned the Chief Justice on his continuous absenteeism. He is to hand over his bungalow and other court materials in his possession to the Judicial secretary.
