Deputy General Secretary of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Koku Anyidoho is of the view that, Ghana is currently in a state of lawlessness.

Drawing his inspiration from a police commander at the Kwabenya Police Station who was shot dead by armed robbers, he said the country has become lawless and insecured.

According to him, it is no longer safe to stay in Ghana again adding that Ghanaians will begin to rise to ensure security for themselves very soon.

He said when the New Patriotic Party (NPP) was campaigning to capture power, they clearly stated that this country was in a state of lawlessness.

However, after the party took over office, the country have witnessed the worst state of lawlessness, impunity and insecurity under them.

"If the President meant well for the country he should have allowed the laws to work in the case of the Delta force, their precedent has led to insecurity in the country.

"Very soon a mass movement will rise up against the President for him to get on top of issues", he said, on Accra-based Okay FM.

It will be recalled that a police commander at the Kwabenya Police Station was shot dead by armed robbers who stormed the police station.

The robbers reportedly killed the police commander after they invaded the police station to free  seven (7) robbery suspects who were in the custody of the police.

The identity of the police commander is yet to be released.

Inspector General of Police David Asante Apietu, Director of General operations, Dr. Dampare, Acting Director General, CID, DCOP Maame Yaa Tiwari Addo Danquah and DCOP George Mensah had visited the scene.

Police Inspector Emmanuel Ashilevi believed to be in his 40's was shot in the attack carried out by a gang of six men.

The seven escapees, a Nigerian and six Ghanaians are currently on the run.

They have been identified as:

1. Dick Ofori, Ghanaian, 24 years.

2. Chibuzer Akwabu, Nigerian, 34 years

3. Edem Rockson, Ghanaian, 32 years

4. Prince Osei, Ghanaian, 27 years

5. Emmanuel Kotey, Ghanaian, 21 years

6. Kofi Darko, Ghanaian, 21 years

7. Atta Kwadwo, Ghanaian, 20 years
