The Member of Parliament (MP) for Tamale North Constituency, Alhaji Alhassan Sayibu Suhuyini and colleagues of his year group (1997) last weekend had a taste of food served students under the government’s free Senior High School.
The MP and his 1997 year group handed over a refurbished library to the school which was their own initiative. They later went to the dining hall to have a feel of the food served the students.
Speaking to the students after the gesture, the MP said: “We are not unaware of the challenges we faced here due to the inadequate infrastructure and the fact that many have deteriorated even further after all these years. That’s why in discussion with the school authority we decided to refurbish the library to provide a conducive place for learning and to preserve the books which we hope will send a signal to continuing students that all they need to do better than us in conquering the world can be found in books and in the library. We pray it’s well maintained and put to good use. In all about GH ¢42000 was contributed by all of us to carry out the project.”
