Okoe Vanderpuije leads Ablekuma South to Parliament

 
 

Accra Mayor Alfred Okoe Vanderpuije has won the Ablekuma South parliamentary contest.

Mr Alfred Vanderpuije polled 19,984 votes against his rival Jerry Ahmed Shiab from the New Patriotic Party (NPP) who garnered 16,524 votes.

The other candidates, Goodman Baah of the National Democratic Party polled 9 votes while the Progressive People’s Party’s Ishmael Paa Kwesi Longdon polled 117 votes.

An independent candidate Abdullahi Obadia Squire got 49 votes.

The results are all provisional although the Electoral Commission is yet to certify the results.
