The main opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) has said it will leave no stone unturned in its bid to ensure that prophecy by Rev Isaac Owusu Bempah of a scheme by some politicians to assassinate the party’s flag bearer Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo before the December 7 polls does not come to pass.

“God has revealed to me that some politicians in a certain political party in Ghana are conspiring with some members of the NPP to shoot Nana dead at a campaign tour. The NPP should not take this as a joke but rather provide tight security around the man,” he said.

He has since been invited to the police for questioning.

Touching on the matter, the Ashanti Regional Secretary of the NPP, Sam Pyne said the party is taking action over the matter.

“We are not taking chances at all with the revelation he made. We are taking steps towards that,” he told Accra FM.Sam Pyne also questioned why the police invited the man of God over the revelation, saying: “He (Rev Bempah) did not mention the names of those…plotting to kill Nana Addo. He did not mention John Mahama or Amissah-Arthur and so why go and arrest him? When he made the revelation in 2008 that the NDC was going to win the elections that year they were happy, and so what has changed?”
