The incumbent Member of Parliament for Manhyia North in the Ashanti Region, Collins Owusu Amankwah has emerged winner of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) primary in the region.

There had been several failed attempts to elect both constituency executives and a parliamentary candidate.

This is because some parliamentary candidate aspirants accused the executive of intentionally bloating the register.

The primary was earlier marred due to issues surrounding the eligibility of some of the delegates.

Three persons have so far been arrested after allegedly attempting to steal some ballot boxes.
