57 Volta chiefs declare support for Nana Addo

Fifty-seven chiefs in the Nkwanta South Constituency in the Volta Region have declared their unwavering support for the 2016 presidential candidate of the opposition New Patriotic Party.

Speaking on behalf of the chiefs, the Paramount Chief of Nkwanta Akyode Traditional Area Nana Obonbo Sewura Lipuwura II, said the level of leadership has fallen drastically hence the need to support a better leader in the upcoming elections.

Nana Obonbo Sewura Lipuwura II was speaking on Wednesday (October 26) when Nana Akufo-Addo and the leadership of the NPP in the Volta Region paid a courtesy call on him at his palace in Nkwanta.

Nana Obonbo Sewura Lipuwura II said he believed Nana Addo’s campaign promise of one-District-one-Factory will materialise if he was declared the winner of the December 7 elections.

“We know you can do it. We have already allocated a parcel of land for the factory to be sited. We know you can do it.”

He entreated Nana Addo “to create the Oti Region [from the Volta Region], and site the capital in Nkwanta,” if he wins power on December 7.

Nana Addo on the other hand thanked the traditional rulers for the warm reception. He promised he will initiate many developmental projects in the region when he is voted into power.
