Interestingly, when the female commander left the cockpit, one would have thought that the male would have attended to the cockpit for the sake of the passengers, but he failed to do so.

An official of India's Directorate General of Civil Aviation was quoted as saying "The cockpit fight was a shocking and a very serious incident. Both the pilots were out of the cockpit a couple of times and there was no one there. What if they had been locked out of the cockpit? This is unheard of and calls for extreme action."

Aside the sack, the male pilot’s license was revoked, but the female’s was not, as the license is still reportedly under review.

According to the Aviation official, "It is alleged the lady commander was hit by the co-pilot and she left the cockpit."

The official further explained, "As per rules, one pilot can leave the cockpit as long as another is there. So, she left when one pilot was still on the controls."

Meanwhile, spokesperson for Jet Airlines whose plane was involved in the scary incident told the BBC, "At Jet Airways, safety of guests, crew and assets is of paramount importance."
