The former Manchester United player led Portugal at the Euro 2016 tournament where they defied all odds to lift their first major international tournament.
The success which was led by the 31-year-old three-time World Player of the Year will be appreciated by changing the name of the man international airport in Madeira to ‘Cristiano Ronaldo Airport’.
Ronaldo already has a statue and a museum named after him at his birthplace Funchal, the capital of Madeira.
The player also officially opened a hotel with 48 rooms and a PS4 and Apple TV reported to be in each of the rooms.
