NPP goes #RedFriday in protest over office raid

The opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) has charged the rank and file of the party to wear all red and black Friday, November 27, 2015 to register their protest over how the security agencies have dealt with the raid at its headquarters.

The party is urging its “members, sympathisers, executives, Members of Parliament, and the leadership of the party” to gather at its Asylum Down headquarters in Accra to speak out.

A statement signed by deputy communications director, Perry Okudzeto said, “The New Patriotic Party will gather at the Party Headquarters to speak to the outrageous, orchestrated Monday dawn raid of the same Head Office by enemies of democracy, under the worrying guise of the State.”

“In this regard we call upon all Ghanaians, who believe in, and want to protect our democracy, to express their outrage boldly by joining in marking #RedFriday by wearing red, or black with red armbands. An attack on the opposition is an attack on democracy. Show solidarity. Wear #RedFriday,” it added.
