A former Public Relations Officer of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana Dr Emmanuel Osei Acheampong has revealed that the outgoing moderator of the church accepted $100,000 as bribe from the opposition NPP.
According to him [Dr Acheampong] the moderator after collecting the 'bribe' attempted to share the money with him; he said the outspoken moderator of the PCG gave him $50,000.
“The NPP gave him the money so he could always speak for them. He gave me some of the money because of the position I occupied as the then Public Relations Officer of the church.”
“I believe he was giving it to me so I also speak on issues to favour the NPP. But I rejected it because of my principles," he said.

Dr Osei Achempong further indicated that he has evidence to back his claims and will produce them in due time.
“I have evidence. He made the allegation so I expect him to come out with his testimony then I will also bring mine.”
“The witness to this encounter was an NPP sympathiser so he may speak for him on this matter. But I have evidence when he produces his I will produce mine.”

Rev Prof Emmanuel Martey revealed that a political party attempted to bribe him with $100,000 to silence him.
He opined that: “Politicians have tried all means to muzzle me, to get me but they can’t, they come with bribes, fat envelopes, $100, 000 … I want everybody to listen that politicians came to my house with $100, 000 and also with the promises that if you keep quiet, we will give you a house at Trasaaco with [a] swimming pool.”
