The Alliance for Social Equity and Public Accountability (ASEPA) has cautioned

The pressure group believes some of the ministries are needless and a total waste of taxpayers money.

The Alliance mentioned six (6) particular portfolios the President has to scrap with immediate effect.

They listed the following portfolios:

Minister for Special Development Initiative

Minister for Business Development

Minister for Planning, Minister for Inner city and Zongo development

Minister of State at the Presidency (in charge of Agriculture)

Minister for Regional Reorganisation.

They revealed this from a survey they conducted to ascertain the viability of Ministers. ASEPA's official tracking, monitoring and evaluation of the key ministries and ministers for a period of 12 months (February 2017 to January 2018) which was done quantitatively by a team of policy analysts numbering up to 10.

The Alliance also called for the merging of some the Ministries as they perform similar duties. They, for, instance mentioned the Ministries of Transport and Finance as some of the Ministries that have to go through this transformation.
