Thief caught sleeping in pastor's bed during robbery

During interrogation, the 27-year old suspect said he returned to the house for more properties after the success on his first round of his thievery.
 
 

The Asamankese Police in the Eastern Region has arrested a suspected robber after he was caught sleeping in the bedroom of an SDA pastor.

Narrating the incident to Accra-based Starr FM Pastor Asare Nyarko said the incident happened on Sunday morning when he and his family left for church.

Pastor Nyarko said he noticed someone had entered  his house forcefully when he returned from church and immediately notified the police.

"“We entered the house with caution, looked at the rooms - the first two were intact - so my wife was going to our bedroom and she saw somebody in our room. So all the Elders with myself opened the door and this guy was fast asleep on my bed and not even the noise the seven of us made woke him up.”

During interrogation, the 27-year old suspect told the police he felt drowsy after smoking marijuana to gain more energy to escape through the ceiling after another attempt at stealing.
