Two suspects, who posed as Lance Corporal Rydbeck Afrifa and AC II Prince Asante have been arrested for allegedly wearing military uniforms, posing as soldiers and harassing unsuspecting victims at Gomoa Ojobi in the Central region.

The two suspects are part of five persons held by the police in Kasoa for unleashing terror on residents as a result of a land dispute in the area.

According to the Kasoa district police commander ACP Dennis Akob-Deb, the suspects committed the offence in support of Madam Brakuaa, a resident of Gomoa Amonda, who is in a dispute with one Kow Agyiri over a piece of land.

He explained that the dispute had been adjudicated by the Agona Swedru High Court as Madam Brakuaa was found guilty but the woman did not take kindly to the verdict thereby resorting to thugs to intimidate occupants of the disputed land.

The suspects first allegedly brutalised some occupants of the land on May 9 this year and followed it up with the beating up today of another occupant, Samuel Kwadwo Osei, leading to their arrest.

He stated that luck, however, eluded the culprits as they were arrested by the police.

ACP Dennis Akob-Deb said the military identification exercise conducted by officers from Burma Camp proved that the two, both 27, are not military officers.
