Vice-chairman of the Black Stars management committee, Wilfred Osei Kwaku Palmer, is confident about the chances of the Black Stars in the Africa Cup of Nations.

The football administrator insists the Black Stars will not be choosy when it comes to their opponents in the quarter-final stage of the tournament.
Two wins in group D over Uganda and Mali were enough to book Ghana’s place in the next round of the Africa Cup of Nations.
However, a crunch meeting with Egypt on Wednesday will decide who secures top spot in the group.
Palmer insists the team is leaving no stone unturned in the quest to win Ghana’s first Nations Cup trophy in 35 years.
He told Asempa FM: “In a tournament situation, both by divine and by destiny, you don’t [have to] wish for any team. [Otherwise] The team you wish for might end up causing havoc to you.
“So we are prepared to meet tougher sides; we are prepared to meet any opponent. It’s combat readiness [for the Black Stars]. That is what soldiers do. When you go to battle you have to be combat ready. And that is exactly what we are doing.
“Scientifically we have scouted all the teams. We know what their strengths are, [and] we know our [Black Stars] weaknesses too. Mind you, [if] you play Morocco – someone like Harve Renard, having worked in Ghana, knows exactly our weaknesses. And we also know his weaknesses because we worked with him. So we have to be prepared for any opponent that comes.”

Minister designate for Youth and Sports, Hon. Isaac Asiamah confirmed during the week that the winning bonuses of the Black Stars had been slashed from $10,000 to $5,000. Speaking on the issue, Palmer said the incoming minister is a good “negotiator,” adding that the state needed someone with good management skills to deal with such delicate matter.
