Stanbic Bank has denied media reports which suggested that their company branded bus carrying some staff members were involved in an accident in the Western Region.
This was contained in a statement signed by the bank’s Head of Marketing and Communication Mawuko Afadzinu.
“We wish to inform the general public that no staff of Stanbic Bank Ghana was involved in and has died in a motor accident at Ewusiejoe, a farming community near Agona Nkwanta in the Ahanta West District of the Western Region, as reported in sections of the media.”

The statement added that the company does not own a staff bus at all.
“No bus of the bank was also involved in an accident in the said area. Indeed Stanbic Bank Ghana has no staff bus.”
The disclaimer comes after media reports suggested that at least eight people were feared dead and 11 others injured in a ghastly accident that occurred on Saturday (February 11, 2017) afternoon at Ewusiejoe near Agona Nkwanta in the Ahanta West District of the Western Region at about 3 pm.

The accident was reported to have involved a Stanbic Bank branded minibus, that was travelling from Takoradi and another Takoradi-bound mini bus.
However, Stanbic Bank has vehemently denied the story. The statement finally wished the injured a speedy recovery and expressed their deepest condolence to the family of the bereaved.
