MTN sets up Ghc300k research fund at KNUST

Telecom giant MTN has established a Ghc300, 000 fund to support research and academic activities at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST).

According to Cynthia Lumor, Corporate affairs manager of MTN, the move will encourage innovation and creativity.

“Management of MTN Ghana has realised, like other academic institutions in Ghana, KNUST requires funding for capacity building, training and other academic exercises. The partnership agreement signed today is expected to establish a practical link between academia and the industry,” she told Starr News at an event to announce the deal on Wednesday.

Professor Otu Elis, Vice Chancellor of KNUST expressed his gratitude to MTN and promised to ensure that the objectives of the fund will be realised.
