A group of hackers known as Ourmine claimed responsibility on Twitter, saying "we are just testing your security” and requested Zuckerberg to get in touch.

“Hey @finkd we got access to your Twitter & Instagram & Pinterest, we are just testing your security, please dm us,” the group tweeted.

According to multiple media reports, Ourmine’s Twitter account has since been suspended.

A statement issued by Facebook said the hack was not related to its own security.

“No Facebook systems or accounts were accessed,” a Facebook spokesperson said, newsweek reported. “The affected accounts have been re-secured.”
