He was awarded 273,328 shares in Google's parent company Alphabet on February 3 that will vest in quarterly increment if he stays on the job through 2019, according to a regulatory filing with the US Securities and Exchange Commission.

Although Larry Page is still CEO of Google parent company Alphabet, Pichai has the incredibly important job of making sure that the company's core businesses and cash cow stay strong, according to Business Insider.
