A look at Tony Yeboah's top three goals for Leeds United
One of the most explosive players in the history of the Premier League, he made an incredible impact at the club in his two years there,
He earned a reputation of scoring spectacular goals and here are his top three...
All three goals in this list come within two months of each other at the start of the 1995/96 season, which when Yeboah was at his most fearsome. This goal at Hillsbrough (see video 0:35) took place after the top two strikes in this list, so it may have seemed less special, but that is not the case.
The Leeds striker picked the ball up just inside the Owls' half before shrugging off the advances of three Wednesday challenges. He then glides past a fourth defender, before firing an accurate strike past Kevin Pressman.
This goal won the August Goal of the Month competition, but, amazingly, it is not Yeboah's best for the club. After scoring both of Leeds' goals in the opening game of the season a 2-1 win away at West Ham, one of which was a superb strike, he then scored his third consecutive strike in the club's opening home game of the campaign.
Leeds face Liverpool and once again relied on Yeboah, whose single goal clinched a 1-0 victory. Rod Wallace headed the ball back to a loitering Yeboah, who then pulls off an unbelievable volley to leave David James stranded.
The Ghanaian striker picked up his second consecutive Goal of the Month award two months into the season and this strike against Wimbledon was eventually picked as the Goal of the Season.
Yeboah controlled the ball on his chest, then his left knee, before sidestepping past a Wimbledon defender. He then unleashes an unstoppable strike with his right foot to score a memorable goal. One of the greatest goals in Premier League history, Yeboah will go down in history as one of the best scorers of truly wonderful goals.
