Dong Bortey suffers injury, after scoring for Hearts of Oak

The winger scored a goal in his quest to make a mark in his Hearts of Oak trials, but couldn’t last the entire minutes due to a knee injury

Maxwell Boakye’s header gave Hearts of Oak the opener in the 18th minute, before Dong Bortey doubled their lead in the 24 minute, but the former Tema Ghapoha player suffered a setback when he sustained injury and was stretched off in the 43rd minute.

Vision Explorers Soccer Academy later in the game scored the consolation goal through Fernandez Glaning.

Hearts of Oak's new signing from Medeama Malik Akowuah was handed his unofficial debut.

Dong Bortey, who is a free agent is training with his former side, Accra Hearts of Oak in his bid to relaunch his career and get a permanent deal.

He joined Accra Hearts of Oak in 2001 from Tema Ghapoha and won several league titles and the CAF Confederation Cup with the Accra giants.

Bortey from Hearts of Oak had stint with Aduana Stars and other clubs.
