Gerard Nus and Jamie Lawrence, assistant coach and physical trainer of the Black Stars respectively, are stranded in Accra awaiting their payment after helping Ghana to fourth place at the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations.

Black Stars coach Avram Grant resigned shortly after the tournament, a situation that seems to have ended the tenure of his backroom staff, but some of the Israeli's men have been unable to follow him out of the country as they are yet to be paid for their efforts in Gabon.
Gerard Nus who was brought in by Grant as assistant coach has poured out his frustration over the unpaid salaries.

"Some economical terms have not been given to me yet, so when you work as a human being you expect to be paid. I have not been paid for the AFCON an that is what I am looking forward to get things sorted out as soon as possible.
"I have been talking to a lot of people almost everyday, the president (GFA), the chairman of the Black Stars, Alex Asante . They say they are working on it and I would want to believe that but unfortunately there is nothing happening,"
