The former Ghana Premier League topscorer Kofi Owusu has joined AshGold
Owusu completed his move to the former Premier League champions on Tuesday evening, after both parties agreed to the terms in the contract.
The 27 year-old forward who terminated his contract with Egyptain side Aswan FC started training with the Miners and his performance convinced the technical handlers and the management of the club to hand him a deal.
“Kofi Owusu has been training with the team for sometime now and his performance was very good, so the technical team told the management to sign him,” a source at Ashanti Gold told Pulse.com.gh.
“Kofi Owusu is a good player no doubt about it, and we hope he will replicate that performance when the Ghana Premier League starts next month.”
Owusu in 2015/16 won the Ghana Premier League top-scorer award with 17 goals when he was playing for Berekum Chelsea.
Ashanti Gold move will be Owusu’s sixth club, after Okwawu United, King Faisal, Aduana Stars, Berekum Chelsea and Aswan FC.
