Kotoko win 22nd league title

Exactly three years today, the Porcupine Warriors edged the Tema based side to emerge as champions of Ghana.

The first half of the game ended with no goals to either side, but Prince Baffoe 71st minute goal sealed the 2012-13 league title for Asante Kotoko.

This gave them a back to back league titles, having won it in 2011-12 season under the technical direction of Maxwell Konadu, the assistant coach of the Black Stars.

Kotoko finished three points clear after close challengers, Berekum Chelsea lost 2-1 to Heart of Lions on the final day of the Glo Premier League’s campaign.

The victory made Coach Didi Dramani, making his premiership debut, returns the Porcupine Warriors to the CAF Champions League after they were crushed out in the season’s competition before the group stages.

As well as it was Kotoko's 22nd title overall, it was also the fifth Premier League title for the club.
