French Open champion Garbine Muguruza heads into Wimbledon as the second seed behind Serena Williams, her highest seeding for a grand slam.

Muguruza claimed victory over Williams at Roland Garros last month to put herself on the list of grand slam winners, having come so close at the All England Club 12 months ago.

The Spaniard reached the final of the grass-court championship in 2015, only to lose in straight sets to Williams.

Rising stars Belinda Bencic and Madison Keys are also seeded inside the top 10, while Great Britain's Johanna Konta is the 17th seed – the first Briton seeded in the women's draw since 1984.

There is no seeding for former world number one Caroline Wozniacki, though, the Dane having struggled for form following an ankle injury.

In the men's draw Novak Djokovic and Andy Murray are unsurprisingly the top two seeds, with Roger Federer number three.

In-form Dominic Thiem has been named the eighth seed, with fellow Next Generation star Alexander Zverev taking the 24th seeding.

Wimbledon begins on Monday, with the draw for 2016's third grand slam taking place on Friday.
