Andy Murray and Nick Kyrgios fired the Singapore Slammers into second place in the International Premier Tennis League on Wednesday with victories in their clash with the Indian Aces.

After Kyrgios had thrashed Bernard Tomic 6-1 in the men's singles, Murray partnered Marcelo Melo to a 6-4 win in the men's doubles against Ivan Dodig and Tomic.

The Slammers also saw Carlos Moya beat Fabrice Santoro 6-0 as they recorded a 27-16 win.

The Aces had been given hope when Agnieszka Radwanska beat Belinda Bencic 6-3 in the women's singles, but Murray and Kyrgios inspired the Slammers to a second win in as many days.

Marin Cilic was the key man for the UAE Royals as they triumphed on home soil, the Croat securing wins in the men's singles and doubles as they beat the Japan Warriors 26-22.

After his compatriot Goran Ivanisevic had lost to Marat Safin in the legend's game, Cilic brushed aside Philipp Kohlschreiber 6-3 before helping Daniel Nestor to beat Leander Paes and Pierre-Hugues Herbert on a tie-break.

Kristina Mladenovic wrapped up the win for the Royals as she secured a 6-2 singles win over Kirsten Flipkens, while she was able to win five games in the mixed doubles to send the Warriors to another defeat.
