Grigor Dimitrov advanced to the Istanbul Open semi-finals for the second consecutive year after defeating Jiri Vesely 7-6 (7-1) 6-1 in the last eight on Friday.

Bulgarian Dimitrov was beaten by Pablo Cuevas in the last four 12 months ago, but he has the chance to go one further this time around after recovering to beat Vesely on the Turkish clay.

Vesely led 5-2 in the first set and squandered a set point when leading 40-30 at 5-4, but Dimitrov rebounded to clinch the win.

Ivo Karlovic recorded the 300th win of his career on Thursday, and the Croatian will provide Dimitrov's opposition in the final four after the third seed overcame Marcel Granollers 7-6 (7-2) 6-7 (5-7) 6-4.
