Andy Murray marches past Lu Yen-hsun at Wimbledon

Lu Yen-hsun was beaten in round two by Andy Murray when the Briton previously won Wimbledon and offered up little resistance on Thursday.

Andy Murray coasted into round three of the men's singles at Wimbledon with a routine 6-3 6-2 6-1 triumph over Lu Yen-hsun.

Although Murray lost to Lu at the 2008 Olympics in Beijing, the Briton had won the pair's three subsequent meetings without dropping a set, including a second-round victory on his way to the 2013 Wimbledon title.

Lu started brightly on Centre Court this time around, breaking in the first game, but Murray was soon able to seize command of proceedings without needing to display his best form.

The world number two twice won seven games in succession during a one-sided encounter and will now face Australia's John Millman having opened his campaign with two straight-sets wins.

Lu shocked Andy Roddick in a fourth-round tie at the All England Club in 2010 and briefly appeared capable of another surprise as he took three of the first four games.

However, a string of forehand errors from Lu, together with some erratic serving, enabled Murray to swiftly turn things around and it was not long before the home favourite secured the first set.

From that point on, it was plain sailing for Murray, who broke at the start of the second and third sets before wrapping up victory in an hour and 40 minutes, a double fault from his lacklustre opponent providing a fitting end.
