Video evidence shows Ashgold scored perfect goal against Medeama

Frederick Quayson was unfairly denied a perfect goal for the Miners in the 85 minute of the FA Super Cup.

Ashgold could have carried the day if substitute Frederick Quayson’s goal in the late minute of the game wasn’t disallowed by referee Daniel Laryea.

Samuel Adade played Frederick Quayson in an onside position when he scored from a rebound, after Joseph Atto Bissah’s bicycle kick had been saved by goalkeeper Muntari Tagoe.

Medeama after the disallowed goal scored the only goal of the Super Cup in a similar fashion with three minutes to end proceedings, which the Miners protested vehemently because they thought substitute Bernard Ofori scored from an offside position.

The decision compelled Ashgold to boycott the medal ceremony by rejecting the losers medal.

Despite, the controversial refereeing decision that benefitted Medeama, they were the better side in the evening.
