Ghanaian midfielder makes Black Stars return after apologizing to GFA

Sulley Muntari has officially written to the Ghana Football Association and will be available for selection for the next Black Stars game

The Al Ittihad midfielder reportedly assaulted a member of the Black Stars management committee member over issues on bonuses to be paid to players.

The Ghana Football Association suspended the former AC Milan and Inter Milan midfielder alongside German-born Ghanaian Kevin-Prince Boateng who reportedly attacked former Black Stars manager Kwesi Appiah.

Muntari however after consultation with some senior members in Ghana football, has been advised to apologize as his services and football quality is still needed in the senior national team of Ghana.

A statement on the official website of the Ghana Football Associaion concerning Sulley Muntari’s return read:

“Sulley Muntari has officially written to the Ghana Football Association and apologized for his indiscipline at the 2014 FIFA World Cup tournament in Brazil.

The player has now been reinstated into the Black Stars team and available for selection by Avram Grant for the remainder of the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying games and the main tournament in Gabon next year.”
