Kwesi Nyantakyi seeks re-election as WAFU President

The President of the GFA is set to be re-elected as President of West Africa Football Union zone B today

Ghana Football Association President will contest for re-election for the WAFU-B Presidency at the Congress which will be held on Tuesday January 12 in Accra.

Nyantakyi who is the incumbent WAFU B president will contest Niger's Djibrilla Hima Hamidou for the 2016-2020 term.

Delegates from all  WAFU B member countries will converge at the Movenpick Hotel in Accra on Tuesday for the Congress which will be climaxed with the Election for the President of the Union.

Member countries of WAFU B include Nigeria, Togo, Ghana, Benin, Niger, Cote D’Ivoire, Burkina Faso.

Three FIFA Presidential candidates have confirmed their attendance at the Congress to explain their plans for World Football.

WAFU (Zone B) will also hold an election for the President of the regional body for the 2016-2020 term of office.

Below is the full programme of activities for the media during the WAFU Zone B Congress.

9:00am- Opening ceremony (The event is open to the media for the address by Ghana Sports Minister Mustapha Ahmed and WAFU Zone B President Kwesi Nyantakyi)

12:15pm- Media briefing by HRH Prince Ali Al-Hussien (FIFA Presidential Candidate)

12:45pm- Media briefing by Gianni Infantino (FIFA Presidential Candidate)

13:15pm- Message from Jerome Champagne’s representative (FIFA Presidential Candidate)

13:30pm- Media briefing by Sheikh Salman bin Ebrahim Al-Khalifa (FIFA Presidential Candidate)

14:15pm- Press Conference by WAFU President and General Secretary
