Chris Ashton will appear before a Rugby Football Union (RFU) disciplinary panel on Tuesday after the Saracens wing was cited for allegedly biting Northampton Saints' Alex Waller twice.

Ashton could face a lengthy ban after the England international was accused of biting Waller on two separate occasions during the first half of Sarries' Premiership win over the Saints on Saturday.

The RFU on Monday confirmed that the 29-year-old flyer, charged with acts contrary to good sportsmanship, will face a three-person panel in London to learn his fate.

Ashton missed the 2016 Six Nations due to a 10-week ban for making contact with an opponent's eye.
