Experienced England prop David Wilson has left Bath to re-join fellow Premiership side Newcastle Falcons.

Wilson departed Kingston Park seven years ago and has since gone on to earn 44 England caps, playing at the 2011 and 2015 Rugby World Cups.

However, the 31-year-old has now opted to return to the club where he started his career, having racked up 156 Premiership appearances to date.

"I have been considering this move for a while and it is fantastic that we have been able to finalise everything," he said.

"I came through the academy here at Newcastle, I loved playing for the club and I have been watching from a distance these past few years, taking note of all the improvements going on at Kingston Park.

"They are doing good things under Dean Richards, the set-up seems much more professional and the quality of the squad is outstanding."
