Stand-in England captain Jos Buttler felt Bangladesh's celebration of his dismissal in the second one-day international in Dhaka was "over the top".

The tourists were chasing 239 for a series win when Buttler was trapped leg before by Taskin Ahmed, ending his run-a-ball knock of 57.

Taskin's initial appeal was ignored by the on-field umpire, but a review prompted the decision to be overturned and sparked scenes of jubilation among the Bangladesh players.

Buttler was visibly irked, walking back towards the opposing players before turning to leave the field at the behest of the umpires, and suggested they perhaps been over-exuberant.

He said: "I thought it was a little bit over the top. I don't mind guys celebrating just together.

"I know that's obviously a very passionate cricket country and the players are very passionate and I have got no problem with that. I was just a little bit disappointed in the fashion they celebrated.

"I don't mind them celebrating a wicket but to run and celebrate in my face… Rightly they are happy to get a wicket but there is no need to run in someone's face and celebrate.

"Maybe in hindsight I could just walk away but it is what it is. Emotions were running high and obviously they were delighted to get the wicket. Maybe I should have just walked off."

Bangladesh captain Mashrafe Mortaza hit a 29-ball 44 and added figures of 4-29 with the ball.

He was unsure what exactly sparked the confrontation but felt Buttler could have shown more composure.

"I don't know who spoke to Buttler. I was focusing on the review that I took, and then I got excited by the decision," Mortaza added.

"Sometimes, a lot of things happen in the heat of the moment. But players from both sides should control themselves."

The third and final ODI will take place in Chittagong on Wednesday.
