Dan Sarginson is ready to prove a point in the NRL after bringing the curtain down on his Wigan Warriors career by winning the Super League Grand Final.

A move to Gold Coast Titans awaits England international Sarginson, whose grubber kick set up Josh Charnley for the decisive try in Saturday's 12-6 victory over Warrington Wolves.

The 23-year-old felt it was the ideal way to bring his three years at Wigan to an end after the club's Grand Final defeats in 2014 and 2015, but he already has his sights set on what the future holds.

"What a way to go out. I've had a tough three years here, I've had some injuries, I didn't play [the Grand Final] last year and the first year I think we deserved to win and we didn't get it, and to come out on top tonight is the best way I could have left the club," said Sarginson.

"When I came up [to Wigan] I heard it was a rough town but I love it, almost as much as my home town.

"I honestly think I'll be back if they'll take me but I'm just looking forward to getting over to Aus now and proving a point over there."

Sarginson was deployed in an unfamiliar full-back role at Old Trafford and admitted the pressure he felt prior to kick-off was unlike anything he has experienced.

He also praised coach Shaun Wane's role in leading Wigan to the title in a season blighted by injuries.

"I was just saying how much pressure I felt under, knowing that you're at full-back and you'll be under some high balls and you know can pretty much lose a match by yourself," he added.

"So before the game I've never felt pressure like that but just such a relief to come out on top.

"It's ridiculous what pressure Shaun goes under. You see him some days and he hasn't slept a wink.

"I've never met someone who works so hard. He analyses things two or three times over and it's unbelievable how hard he works.

"I couldn't stop hugging him after the game, I'm so happy for him."
