Castleford Tigers have insisted that Denny Solomona is not for sale after the Super League club rejected three bids for the prolific winger.

Auckland-born flyer Solomona was shortlisted for the Man of Steel after breaking the Super League try-scoring record in an outstanding season.

The former Melbourne Storm and London Broncos man touched down 40 times in Super League - and 42 in total - during the 2016 campaign and has been linked with Wigan Warriors.

Sale Sharks and Gloucester are also said to be eager to lure Solomona to rugby union, but Tigers chief executive Steve Gill said the Yorkshire club have no intention of allowing their star man to move on.

He told BBC Radio Leeds: "Denny's has got a two-year contract with the club,

"We have rebuffed three approaches for him, two from rugby union and one from league and nothing has changed from that.

"We haven't sold him and we're not loaning him back like I've heard the rumours.

"Our stance is that he's not for sale and we expect Denny back in on November 7 for the start of pre-season training with the first-team squad."
