Truex Jr. was able to capitalise on an error from Kevin Harvick, who appeared certain for victory at the Darlington Raceway in South Carolina.

Harvick led the most laps of any driver but errors during his pit-stops cost him multiple positions during the 367-lap race.

Truex Jr. made his way to the front after passing Ryan Newman, holding on in the finals laps to secure the victory.

Harvick, despite his problems, eventually settled for second place.

Kyle Larson, just a week after his first Sprint Cup win in Michigan, completed the podium places.
