Gethin Jenkins, Bradley Davies and Josh Turnbull will miss the final Test of Wales' tour in New Zealand after returning home due to injury.

The trio were all released from Warren Gatland's squad on Wednesday after picking up knocks during the tour – which has seen Wales lose the opening two Test matches.

Prop Jenkins started both contests against the All Blacks but suffered a calf injury during the second game in Wellington last weekend – which Wales lost 36-22.

Davies played in the second row in the opening Test – won 39-21 by New Zealand – and came off the bench in game two, however he picked up a knee problem and will play no further part.

Turnbull's early return caps a frustrating tour that has only seen him appear in Wales' 40-7 defeat to Super Rugby side Chiefs, the flanker injuring his shoulder in that loss.

Wales play the third and final Test against the world champions in Dunedin on Saturday.
