Head coach Eddie Jones has added World Cup winner Richard Hill to England's backroom team.

Hill, who was part of the England team that beat an Australia side led by Jones in the 2003 Rugby World Cup final, has been appointed as senior team manager.

The 43-year-old will begin his new role during a training camp in Brighton between October 2 and 4 ahead of fixtures against South Africa, Fiji, Argentina and Australia in November and December.

"It is a great honour to take up this position with the national team," Hill told the Rugby Football Union's (RFU) official website.

"These are exciting times for English rugby and I look forward to supporting the team and management in our journey to the World Cup in 2019."

Hill played his entire club career with Saracens and represented England on 71 occasions as well as making five appearances for the British and Irish Lions.

"Richard is an icon of English rugby and I am very pleased he has agreed to join the England management team," Jones added.

"His vast international experience and in-depth knowledge of the RFU player pathway means he's a great fit for this role in the England set-up.

"Richard's responsibilities will range from maintaining England Rugby's internal and external relationships to providing mentoring and support for players and management."
