Canterbury impress again, Counties Manukau win

Canterbury continued their impressive start to the Mitre 10 Cup season with a 45-14 thrashing of Tasman on Sunday.

The hosts left it late at AMI Stadium in Christchurch, running in four tries in the final 20 minutes.

Dominic Bird, Nathan Vella, Jack Goodhue and Kaveinga Finau went over from the hour-mark onwards to seal the win.

Teen star Jordie Barrett had scored the game's opening try and he finished with 25 points as Canterbury made it two wins from as many matches.

Canterbury are top of the Premiership Division after collecting bonus points in their first two victories.

In a meeting between two winless teams, Counties Manukau came out on top in a 39-34 victory over Bay of Plenty.
