FINA settles Ghana's Olympic Games representative debate

International Swimming Federation document settles Ophelia Swayne and Kaya Forson's debate on Twitter.

Ghanaian swimmer Ophelia Swayne set Twitter ablaze when she posted on her timeline that she will not be making an appearance in Brazil to represent Ghana as she had been replaced by Kaya Forson.

She tweeted a screenshot of the news Kaya Forson will be taking her place with the caption:

“Guys don’t bother rooting for me, I’ll not be going for the Olympics”

Social media which has been the voice for the voiceless took charge from there on, tweeting some words of encouragement and others blaming the ‘system’ for failing us.

With more questions needing answers on social media, there had to be a way and it was the records.

Swimming is not subjective like football is. The records talk and chooses the best.

Won’t we all love to settle this Lionel Messi vs Cristiano Ronaldo battle once and for all if we could go the swimming way?

According to the International Swimming Federation, FINA, Jackson Gyekye Abeiku and Forson Kaya Adwoa are the best swimmers in Ghana as their time records show.

The document also provides proof of where theses records were clocked.
