Corey Parker says he has lived a childhood dream after the Brisbane Broncos star announced he will retire at the end of the season.
The 34-year-old had been in talks over a one-year extension, but elected to hang up the boots after 16 seasons with the Broncos.
Parker has spent his entire NRL career with the club after making his senior debut in 2001.
"I feel very fortunate to come here as a young kid at 17 and fulfil a dream of playing for a club that I love," he said on Monday.

"To still be able to sit here in club colours 16 years later is something I am very proud of.
"This day was always going to come and I class myself as a very fortunate person in terms of my career. These 16 years wouldn't have been possible without my family's support and for that I say thank you.
"The game of rugby league has given me so much over the years. I have countless memories, friendships and fans from it. I've taken off the game for so long and I now look forward to giving back to the game that I love so much."
The forward has made 336 appearances in the NRL, more than any other player in his position, while also playing 13 Tests for Australia.
Parker kicked an important goal in the Broncos' 2006 Premiership triumph, but was on the losing side in 2015 as they were beaten by the North Queensland Cowboys.
He made his State of Origin debut in 2004 and will play his 18th game for Queensland on Wednesday.
