Ghana midfielder Kwadwo Poku says he joined Miami FC to gain more playing time and help them to qualify to the top-flight

'I joined Miami FC for more playing time'
Poku has revealed that he joined Miami FC from New York City FC to have more playing time and develop as well.

After scoring two goals in 25 appearances for the Atlanta Silverbacks, the Ghanaian's move to New York City FC in January 2015 barely made a dent in the United States soccer scene.
According to reports, Poku moved to the hugely ambitious NASL expansion team for $750,000 and the 24-year-old could earn as much as $500,000 a year.

Poku told Angel FM: "It was not easy for my former club New York City to announce my departure but it had to happen at the end of the day."
"I moved to Miami FC for more playing time so that I can develop well as a player. I'm still young with lots of opportunities ahead, playing every weekend will make me a better player and adapt to the expectations. I will do my best for Miami to achieve the target for the season," added.

Poku played his first match for second-tier side Miami FC in their 1-1 draw at Fort Lauderdale Strikers on Sunday.
The Miami FC returns to action, Saturday, July 9 when they return to Ocean Bank Field at FIU Stadium to host the New York Cosmos.
