Juventus midfielder set for quick injury return

The 27-year-old suffered a thigh injury in his side’s 3-0 win over Inter Milan in a Coppa Italia fixture on January 27.

Juventus manager Massimilliano Allegri has confirmed that Ghana midfielder Kwadwo Asamoah could return from injury on Monday.

He was expected to be out for three weeks, however, addressing the media on Wednesday, Allegri said Asamoah could join the squad for training on Monday.

“Asamoah is pretty good and should train on Monday, Stefano Sturaro perhaps on Sunday” Allegri said.

“Giorgio Chiellini has only an adductor strain and I wanted to give him more rest, while Mario Mandzukic and Sami Khedira will still take a while – perhaps for Napoli.”
