Aston Villa forward sent off for elbowing Aaron Cresswell

Ghanaian forward Jordan Ayew was sent off in Aston Villa's Premier League game against West Ham United on Tuesday night

Jordan Ayew had been Aston Villa’s best player in recent weeks. Amid a troubled season for his Villa side, the Black Stars forward had risen above all the pressure to deliver when needed.

The Ghanaian pace and work rate upfront made him the frontrunner when manager Remi Garde was naming his frontline for game.

Jordan was named in Aston Villa’s starting line-up for their English Premier League game against West Ham United on Tuesday evening and the Ghanaian lasted just 17 minutes in the game after an off ball incident saw him get sent off by match day referee Jon Moss.

The Ghana international was handed a straight red card after an elbowing West Ham United’s Aaron Cresswell in the face while waiting for a throw in from his teammate.
