West Ham manager fumes at penalty awarded to Ghanaian player

West Ham United manager Slaven Bilic fumes at late penalty awarded after a foul on Ghana international Jeffrey Schlupp

Referee Jon Moss who controversially sent off Jamie Vardy for diving earlier on pointed to the spot in the 94th minute after Black Stars player Jeffrey Schlupp went down following a contact in the box from West Ham forward Andy Carroll.

Jose Leonardo Ulloa scored the penalty kick to grab a point for the Premier League leaders in the 2-2 draw against West Ham.

Slaven Bilic however said after the game:

“It’s not a penalty [the foul on Jeffrey Schlupp], let’s be honest.

“To be fair, it’s hard for referees and it was hard for him because you have thousands of people screaming for every long ball in the box.

“They shout ‘penalty’ or ‘handball’ or scream ‘cheat’ or ‘dive’ so it is hard. Of course it’s not a penalty but it was very hard for him.

“I’m trying to be nice to him. I’m fuming. All I’m saying is it is hard to not get under the influence of everybody [in the stadium].”

Ghana international Jeffrey Schlupp was introduced into the game after 54 minutes of play replacing Marc Albrighton for Leicester City.

Daniel Amartey also made a 78th minute appearance for the Premier League leaders coming on for Riyad Mahrez.
