Ghanaian boxer to face John Neil Tabanao on Friday

"I will make sure Tabanao go back to his country empty handed" - Isaac Dogboe

The two pugilists will be facing each other for a unification bout and also on the line is the vacant WBC Youth World title.

With three titles up for grab, the 21 year-old Ghanaian is optimistic of sending his opponent back to his country empty handed.

“As the saying goes, there is a soldier in every land you go, I’m a soldier in my own land and I will make sure Tabanao go back to his country empty handed,” Dogboe said ahead of the bout.

“We have a mission that we have to accomplish which is to win the world title and we are on course in achieving that so Tabanao can’t stop us,” he added.

But Tabanao is unperturbed fighting Dogboe in Ghana.

“I expect the entire country to be against me but I’m ready to give Isaac a tough fight on Friday because I’m in Ghana to prove to the world that I’m one of the best boxers in the featherweight division,” said Tabanao.

Last June, Dogboe stopped Uganda’s Edward Kakembo in six to defend his WBO Africa featherweight belt while Tabanao on the same month traveled to Australia to KO Ibrahim Balla in three to win the vacant WBO Oriental featherweight title.
