Sergio Traguil outlines ambitions at new club

Sergio on Hearts players, supporters and what he expects from his players in his first match.

The Portuguese coach was introduced to playing body of the Rainbow boys on Wednesday, and he immediately began feeding the team his ideas as they prepare for the second round of the 2015-16 Ghana Premier League.

After supervising his second training session on Thursday, the "New Mourinho or Portalegri Mourinho" as he is affectionately called, spoke to Pulse.com.gh at the club's training ground.

According to him, the players are responding to his ideas and the have worked harder than he initially envisaged and he is elated.

"I have noticed that they are improving. They are keeping the things that I am giving to them. I can't give them much because we have a game on Sunday. I cannot give them too much information, but I am proud because they are working very well. They are even work better than I initially thought so I am very happy with that," Sergio Traguil said.

Coaches are often noted for giving their all to achieve success, and Sergio Daniel is no exception. During his days in the Nigeria league with Kaduna United, the "Portalegri Mourinho" won 22 and drew 1 of 23 games played, a record which symbolises his good work.

He says it is in his DNA to work hundred percent wherever he finds himself and will do same with the 2001 CAF Champions league winners.

"Everywhere I go I give my all, everywhere.  I work always the same way everywhere. I work 100% professional and 100% on the pitch that's how I am -- I give my all."

Hearts of Oak is yet to acquire a work permit for Sergio according to Pulse.com.gh sources, but the Portuguese expect his team to give their all even if he is not on the bench for his first game against Dreams FC on Sunday.

He says trust their work and talent and expect them to display to Ghanaians what they've got within.

He also praised the reception he has been given from the fraternity of the Hearts of Oak. He said he never anticipated that.

"I will expect a good job from them because they have to continue what they are doing, they have to work a lot in the second round. I trust a lot in their work, I trust a lot in their talent. So I think definitely they will do a very good job [against Dreams FC]."

"The reception I have had from Hearts fans has been wonderful. I did not expect such a wonderful reception. Even those who criticised me before have given me their support after watching my training so I am very happy," he noted.

Sergio Daniel Moniz Traguil was unveiled as Hearts' interim head coach on Thursday at the club's Secretariat.
